I am having the same problem. I have Mcafee 4.5.0534 and VNC 3.3.3 r7.
When the new dat files 4.120 came down yesterday it started deleting the
executable. I have over ten deletes now. I have downloaded a new copy of
VNC and unistalled VNC from my machine. It is McAfee's doing. It is not an
actuall virus it is a heuristic mistake.

I just installed the 4.0.4120 as well, but I have no virus warning
concerning VNC. It seems to me that your VNC is infected somehow...

Thanx for your reaction but with the virus definitions 4.0.4119 i didn't
had the problem either, we are using VNC for ages now ( like 2 years or so )
so it wasn't a new installation.
Probably if you download the new virus definitions 4.0.4120 from 7 Feb like
i mentioned in the topic you will get the same problem.

Maikel

Hi Maikel,

I just made a full scan of my system using NetShield NT 4.0.3 (Network
Associates Inc., formerly McAfee) with the virus definitions 4.0.4119 from
3rd
February 2001. No viruses were found even in WinVNC Version 3.3.3R7 which I
downloaded on 11th January 2001.
So I believe your system wasn't infected installing WinVNC but before or -
much
probably - thereafter.

I suggest you try to get rid of the viruses (including a complete
deinstallation
of VNC) and then downloading a clean version.

Regards

Daniel
