A response! A response! Excuse me for a moment while I dance around the
room.

Phew! I'm not as young as I used to be; all that dancing took it out of me.

Now, where was I?

I'll get the detailed info and post it later today. However, I have to say
that neither the video nor the networking at either end seems to have any
obvious problems. The two boxes remain in regular network communication
throughout the day (one of them, the Win98 box, which is the VNC client, is
my interface box to the Internet, so quite a bit of traffic goes through
the local-net NIC on that machine -- the NIC is a Linksys 10MB card of some
kind; I'll get the driver details for you later, but I am 99% sure that
it's a standard driver that is part of he Win98SE distribution; the server
is a brand-new T20 laptop with a built-in Ethernet connection).
