As I'm at bit of a lull, I'd like to post a couple projects I've been
playing with ( Literally ). The following work lack's a certain sense of
"completeness". Nevertheless, I think you'll be surprised what plain old
vanilla VRML can do. At some point I'll adapt these to X3D or to a MU
environment.

An updated UMEL game is here...
http://www.pd.org/~thatguy/games/umelgame/main.html
(It "might" even run under Contact now)

But at the Web3D conference another idea hit me...
http://www.pd.org/~thatguy/games/mediainvaders3D/main2.html
so I'm changing directions. ( I think? )

Neither is close to complete with the latter being a just bare bones proof
of concept piece. Still space invaders on a 3D gameboard feels kinda fun.

I don't know if I ever released this one, its a company project that I did.
(The company has gone under - at the behest of the parent corporation -
nuts) Anyway its Troo's Home Safety Hunt (contains no killing)
http://www.pd.org/~thatguy/gra/TrooIndex.html
Find seven - Unsafe - items in a VR Kitchen.

Also Star5ield Gunner is in the process of an update...

best wishes

Steve

PS Its all open, and heck, I'll answer questions should anyone cares to
ask. If you wonder what's the point, I'm signing on with
marketingcentral.com to offer "affordable" online 3D games as marketing
tools for small to midsized businesses. (We aren't the only ones looking
at games ;^)
