Posted by Eugene Volokh: Paging Hollywood: A few months after I published my short story ([1]The Love Charm) in Legal Affairs, a screenwriter who had been reading the magazine bought a one-year option, thinking he might turn it into a screenplay (or, more likely, a treatment) that he could try to sell. The option has expired -- that's Hollywood for you -- and I thought that I'd just note this in case any readers might be interested in taking the baton. I was pleasantly surprised by the writer's call a year ago; I thought that perhaps I might get pleasantly surprised again.
