Thanks for the response Jeff.  The only problem is that we haven't done
anything to our e-mail server in the time frame the customer is talking
about.  I'm just wondering if it's something to do with his system being
Windows 98 running Netscape 4.  I had him go into a command prompt and ping
the e-mail server and he's pinging just fine, so I at least know his
computer can see the server.  Now it's just a matter of figuring out why his
mail client can't.

Make sure the client's ISP has not blocked outbound port 25 for all mail
servers except their own. Many ISP's are now only requiring their clients to
use their SMTP server. If this is the case, your client will not see your
SMTP server

Here's one that I've seen off and on but this is the first time it hasn't
cleared up on its own.  One of our customers is using Netscape 4 Mail and
for the past week (just called today) he's been getting an error saying that
the mail server cannot be contacted.  I've tested the account from my side
using Netscape Mail 6 on an IMAP connection and it's working fine.  Has
anyone else seen this or maybe at least know what is causing this error?
Any help is appreciated.
