Subject: [VOP RADIUS] Discontinuation of the upgrade insurance

Was that on all Vircom products or just the radius server?

Gary

I had a talk with someone from Vircom this morning. It clarified a few things for me and I have recommended that they state their policy clearly on the website.

It appears the policy is as follows:

They will no longer have a simple $250/year upgrade insurance. You have to be on a plan. You can buy into a plan as needed but you are given a window to do so at the time of purchase (30 days). If you have not been on a plan for a period of time (I forgot if it is 6 months or what) then you must buy the product anew and you will be credited with half the cost of the product you purchased.

Exmple:  I buy small business version of Radius for $495. but no insurance.

That was one year ago. I cannot buy upgrade insurance now. I must buy the the next version up of the product ( - I don't think they will let you rebuy the same product) and get  $250 credit for having purchased it in the past. Or I can pay $395 to get basic support for the product.

I welcome Vircom's clarification of my portrayal of their policy.
