In that same regard, is anyone doing WiFi hotspots in their neck of the woods?  I have been thinking of deploying some hotspots in restaurants, etc, but I know their seems to be two ways to go.  Industrial strength gear, and the home "cheap" way.  My understanding is that the industrial stuff will cover a larger area, but I am not sure about the cost differences.  Plus their is the admin side, etc.

Anyone do this now?  Have any insights you would care to share?  Equipment?  Software.  Any help would be great.

You can start by contacting a great wireless products company
called Alvarion (www.alvarion.com formerly BreezeNet). I used to work with them
When I worked for a WISP and they were very helpful. You may
want to use them for your Head-end and use some of the D-Link
components for the end users (less expensive):

Good luck, remember to keep it secure.

Is anyone out there doing wireless internet access? Via towers and customer equipment?

We are wanting to expand in this market, and quite frankly do not know where to turn to find out what we need to do?

Please email me off list for any input, and experiences and info you have, you would like to offer.

Thanks all

Jeff
