Not quite true. The energy does derive from the electron orbital, and formation of Hydrino molecules can release tens of thousands of eV per molecule. (I.e. two Hydrinos can combine into a molecule releasing further energy, just as normal ground state Hydrogen atoms can combine into a molecule releasing energy.)
