I found deep pits under the rusted surface of the old radio parts.   There 
appeared to be only a little hole in the nickel.  It looked like a rusted 
chrome bumper after a mild cleaning.  Apparently iron degrades to protect 
nickel.  If there is hole in the nickel a pit in the iron will form beneath the 
hole.  This is what I found upon a deep cleaning of old radio parts.  I had to 
grind it down, with power tools, to get most of these holes out.  My new nickel 
plate is quite thick.  I will not know how it look after the next 100 years.  
The first holes took 100 years to form.

I always learn something from anything I do.  Now I am applying this knowledge 
to the art of cold fusion.  Perhaps I will learn something else.

The nickel plating I did on my Radiola knobs now looks real good.  

I had to buff it with Burasso and re-plate a second time.  As before I used a 
salt electrolyte.


I was then intending to plate titanium oxide nano particles but they do not 
easily connect to a circuit without
destroying the nano quality of the particles.  These particles are used in 
sunscreen and are easy to get.

I am now trying Brillo.  Nickel plated Brillo may make a good catalyst.

Nickel plating in vinegar produced a rough black surface.  Maybe a vinigar 
plating on Brillo may
even be better.  Who knows?  I am trying them now.
