Bob,
Do you have a citation for Jessup?

I am pretty sure that the "Holometer" experiment at Fermilab strongly indicates
that time is continuous, quantum time does not exist at any level of
significance, and that there is no intrinsic cross-dimensional noise down to
Planck time - seven orders of magnitude greater precision than the atomic
clock.

However, this reasoning taken from their experiment is well above my pay-scale
to grasp, since it is said that negation of quantum time still leaves open a
possibility of "5 dimensions" in which two are related to time and the normal 3
to space. A second time dimension then would not look like the common
understanding of sequential time, but possibly like a hologram of some sort.
If the "fifth dimension" were non-spatial, like a second time dimension it
could still appear spatial in some ways (the common descriptor being
"enfolded") but the human brain constructs of causality which are inherent in
"past, present andfuture" would be very different. A second time dimension is
well-suited to QM in ways normal time is not... and to philosophy/religion
where "timelessness" has always had its own special place..

Regarding Remis suggestion of additional dimensions, A. C. Jessup in the 1950’s
suggested that there is a 5th dimension which has a metric of angular momentum,
a vector quantity in the 3d space.   And when combined with time, which was
not a continuum, but a small quantum , he explained the quantum nature of
observed angular momenta.  Time and angular momentum per Jessup are quantized
at the Planck scale in physical systems, not depending upon mathematics to
define their characteristics.   Quantized time may make a large difference as
to the mechanisms at work in large and small black holes.
