Terry,
What you say is true, but... Here is a hypothetical to muddy the water. It may
be relevant to both Newman and Danzik but only if they are truthful in what has
been reported.
Let's be generous and imagine that a large mass flywheel of several tons can be
maintained at 100 RPM with pulsed input of one watt-hour from a 12 volt battery
but when the battery is replaced with capacitors, the flywheel slows to a stop
in ten minutes. Newman was never able to substitute caps (same with
Sweet/Manelas) to achieve self-power. Danzik is silent on caps.
Let's further say that the battery capacity is one amp-hour (or 12 watt-hours
since this battery maintains its starting voltage almost all of the way down to
complete discharge. Otherwise this hypothetical gets too complicated :-)
Now... if this scenario is framed correctly, then here is the kicker. The setup
would includes a winch to lift a known weight to a measured height, over and
over again; and then doing this work until the battery is completely
discharged. From that we calculate that the energy expended was 24 watt-hours -
or twice more than "unity" based on the published energy content of the fully
charged battery.
In other words there is arguable overunity dependent on a battery rating, yet
despite the large amount of work done and energy expended, the motor cannot be
made to self-run without the battery in place. Bizarre, when stated this way
but in fact, this scenario actually approximates the situation for Newman and
possibly for Danzik.
And there is one more detail - the spark. Both designs may have an electrical
discharge or spark in the circuit. This can be in the commutator or hidden, but
somehow the spark seems to push the electrochemistry of the battery well beyond
its faceplate rating. The spark may related to back EMF or to "radiant energy"
or "scalar waves" or some other nebulous way to capture ZPE.
Bottom line - if we can believe the results which quasi-independent observers
claim to have seen then it makes sense only if there is a spark and it is
constantly recharging the battery at the same time as it is being discharged.
In short - something is happening in the operation of the device which allows
more energy to be extracted from a battery than it should be capable of
delivering in a full discharge. This does not happen when capacitors are
substituted however.
Side note: if we simply rate the battery capacity higher, there is no overunity.
Are both of these guys - Danzik and Newman seeing almost the same thing - and
is it an anomaly which goes away with the battery being re-rated - and are both
of them deluded or worse?
In fairness, Danzik seems to be several steps ahead of Newman on the genius
scale, if there is such a thing.
