Any idea what it's modeling?  I.e., what's the attraction go as?

Doesn't look like 1/r^2, the orbits look too goofy for that. Looks like it falls off locally a lot slower than 1/r^2.

And the collisions seem to be anything but elastic.

I guess I could dig around on the website and see -- prob'ly documented somewhere...
