Indeed.

There is a tendency for today's poster child theory to transform into
historical representations of quaint belief systems, often dished up
for amusement as perceived by tomorrow's progeny.

Surely Darwin's TOE will must "evolve" in order to survive. At the
moment it does see likely that fascinating new research into the
surprising and lasting consequences epigenetics unexpectedly play in
subsequent generations may indeed be the next new "darling."

Survival of the fittest.
