Thomas,
I know of no "free energy" devices which originally claimed they
became cooler while operating and which actually demonstrated this fact
under controlled conditions. This includes Newman, Sweet, MEG and
variants, Fogal "transistor" and many others.
I'm afraid that you've destroyed one of my most cherished beliefs.
None of these inventors has bothered to set up even a rudimentary
calorimeter other than simply putting a single thermocouple (or one's
hand) on some arbitrary part of a device without adequate insulation,
calibration, knowledge of heat flow, etc etc. It's a complete mug's
game. Hastings did just the most rudimentary, short-term examination
with a single thermocouple without adequate insulation, as far as I
recall.
Roger admits that the observation was just anecdotal.
I investigated the Newman device shortly after Hastings and found no
such thermal anomaly (although the apparent battery recharging
phenomenon was intriguing for a while until I realized what was
actually happening). A major complicating factor was that Newman's
earliest prototypes used large fan blades (~2.5' dia) as "loads". This
can easily give the impression that the room is getting cooler, even
if you are not in the fan's draft.
I'll mention this matter to him next time we talk.
Did you receive my admonition regarding "Professor" Szabo's EBM in
Hungary?
Of course, I don't need the aggravation of scraping egg off of my face.
I changed my tact to installing a water whirler (Schauberger Vortex) in
one of Minneapolis' lakes.

BTW, C to C AM rebroadcast the Hunt for the Skinwalker segment this
morning. It pegged my weirdness meter once again.
