A couple of quick points to run back. Lets just 'say' that governments and
certain individuals at risk for their jobs for 'non-PC-statements' decide to
admit what everyone feels is true. All of a sudden the fact that we are not
alone is verified by those who spent billions and decades and lives to keep
it secret whilst backengineering technology collected from wrecks. Is it
because there are no more marketable or militarily useful products to be
gained from isolated classified research without some reciprocal disclosures
by those secretly in the know? ...more likely! Or is is because it can no
longer be plausibly denied? ...given the propensity of governments to lie
and back that up with weapons and repression not bloody likely.
Aside from that, say such admissions are made. The fact of the admission
would also discredit Einstein and all those who have made a living for decades
preaching the veracity of this term droppin and devidin by zero fella. For
without Einstein there is no case for the hypotheses that visits to us are
not practically possible as no culture would invest astronomical sums of
money on trips lasting maybe thousands of years just to find the neighbors
and report back....to whom? We have been visited! It is an ordinary
mundane event and this is highly significant, as a visitor who comes and goes
and makes no attempt to contact us is not a emissary seeking contact but a
casual tourist. Look at what WE do when we go on a cruise to a so called
'developing nation' to photograph the 'natives' whilst in a tour group. We
go there in a ship (mothership), land in a 'liberty boat' (named after the
all the world's navies givin the sailors shore leave, or liberty) to the
shore (landing shuttle) where we board busses to performance sites one after
another. We do not really interact with the 'natives' on our cruises either.
An added salty item is that our world may hold many terrors for them as well.
We are a living a world, and our microorganisms may find THEM very tasty.
I happen to feel that 'Baldr' is not really all that much advanced over us,
just lucky to have some minerals on his world(s) that we do not have, or
a more enlightened political system given more to exploration and have
been doing it for a longer time.
Besides rendering Einstein circumventable and attesting to the veracity
of interstellar travel times that practically allow real tourism and trade,
the idea of our visitation in such a matter says we are not alone in the
universe. Our own Catholic faith persecuted scientists for believing and
telling others that the world was not only not flat, but that it was not the
center of the universe. How many of the world's nastiest religions hold
that we are unique, or 'God's only creation made in his image'? How would
this hold up when our visitors decide to actually talk to us common folk.
How would church leaders react when the neighbors start to talk to us
about THEIR religion. Rest assured that they have one! Robespierre
even thought of that one.
No one really knows where the original Bible
Old Testament came from. It has been translated many times but other
faiths seem to believe in the same thing, like this book had an older
copy that had been copied by other cultures their way just like our culture
had its own translation from a still older undiscovered document. That
raises other even more interesting questions.
Our being not alone, and able to visit other places when we earn
the ability will probably destroy faiths depending on the New Testament,
but what of the other Abrahamist faiths that rely on the Old book, like
Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Mohammedism, and others? Are they
resilient enough to bend, or will they break under the weight of truth
as well. Time will only tell. For one day our neighbors will come to
visit and do more than take pictures and tag people for exozoological
studies. That day is approaching. Fast. Our government knows this as
well, as that is the reason for backing out of the ITER. What are Bush's
folks afraid of? Will turning it on finally attract forceful attention akin
to Junior finding his mother's gun. Rest assured we are also being
watched for antisocial behavior, of which we have no shortage, and
its possibility for leaving the bounds of this planet and reaching out
into our system. Maybe there are mining concessions in our system
that are at risk from our interference. Certainly in some nearby
system. If scientists are to be believed, rocky planets near sunlike
stars are common.
