Can you cite an authoritative, original source from an oil company saying that a permit was not granted, or that a lack of facilities is driving up the price of gasoline? With all due respect, anyone who believes the recent Republican antics is wearing a political filter. Pres. Bush #1 was a great friend of oil, and he put the drilling limits in. McCain supported those limits until a few months ago. The GOP had a majority for 6 years and for the last 8 years Cheney has ruled energy policy with an iron hand. Anything the oil companies have wanted, they have gotten. If they had wanted the limits moved, they would have been moved. Cheney and Bush started a war despite opposition, and they have run roughshod over the Democrats time after time. Do you think they did not have the political power to change the laws about offshore oil? - Jed
