There is NO good reason ("no" as in zero, nada, nil, zilch) to suggest that 
Stan Meyer was ever able to demonstrate overunity in electrolysis - nor 
anything even close to it.

Many today, who have seen the gloriously dishonest "mythological" video of Stan 
"walking with angels" and other assorted BS - naively believe that he did 
demonstrate OU and was then murdered because of it - mainly from anecdotes like 
the dune buggy and the vast amount of false lore which has followed. Both of 
these myths are false.

... and the best explanation for that demo (in fact the ONLY good explanation) 
is that he was basically powering an old VW bug engine in a light weight dune 
buggy and for very short excursions - with crankcase oil and a small amount of 
electrolyzed gases (produced from his alternative BG setup). 

He was NEVER able to run that demonstration vehicle for more than 20 minutes. A 
few on Vortex actually witnessed this demo, and can verify that the dune buggy 
invariably could go not further than about 10 miles - which is consistent with 
burning 2 or 3 quarts of crankcase oil. 

It should be noted that this particular engine is notorious for this problem of 
sloppy ring sealing- which is due to the extreme wear of horizontal pistons on 
the aluminum alloy cylinders (the VW 4 cyl opposed engine of the original 
Porsche design) which is widely called the "boxer-oil-burner". After 100,000 
miles you would need at least a quart of new oil with every fillup.

The H2O and O2 - and mixed gases created by Meyer's version (and possible 
improvement) of the Browns Gas generator - facilitated the burning of crankcase 
oil. But that is all that it ever did accomplish, as far as anyone knows today: 
facilitate the burning of crankcase oil. 

Sadly - there is no more to this story than that, since there was no data 
collected and no real scientific testing ever done.

Having said that - the big auto makers still screwed-up and have consistently 
overlooked the fact that a small amount of hydrogen added to an IC engine can 
save a decent amount of gasoline (improve mileage) because of the extremely 
high flame speed of hydrogen. This seems to operate in the range of 10-20 
percent improvement, which should be worth hundreds of millions in savings- had 
it been perfected with the required engineering.

So - in that regard- Meyer's add-on should have been developed further, but he 
was so sloppy in his data collection, and so ignorant of advanced electronics, 
that we are still not sure if his design was even an improvement over the 
normal BG (Rhodes gas) cell.
