Harvey, I can never quite seem to understand anything you say. Please clarify "The greatest mystery that perplexed me for years was how the discharge itself could emit EM as a sort of linear antennae."
Since I have the opposite problem IF we are talking about the same thing, I could see a reason to expect an unusual electromagnetic field transmission from a discharge tube but I am not aware of anyone having noted such.
