That seems like a lot. Mine was about $59.81. This shows that conservation really does make a difference. (Terry and I both live in Atlanta.) I suppose this is because:
We have Georgia Power's new off-peak rates, as I mentioned here. 4 cents per kWh except from 2 to 7 pm.
We have lots of trees around the house. (You can see this by looking at "Woodstream Circle, Atlanta" with Google street-view.)
We have a late model $6,000 heat pump, which -- fortunately! -- survived the flood without damage, thanks to my quick-thinking wife.
We don't like air conditioning. Especially not my wife. We live on the screen porch a lot of the time in summer. That's how I grew up, in Washington DC before they had air conditioning, or television for that matter, which gives my children the impression I grew up in the stone ages. Heck, my wife's house did not have off-island telephone service until 1968, and still has 2 TV stations over air, no air conditioning, and no sewage.
