I understand that the rejection of reality in the case of the Wrights went to 
astounding extremes.  Newspapers spoke of their efforts as a hoax while any 
reporter could simply wander down to the area where they were testing and watch 
them fly. 
 
I think it most critical to produce a simple useful product based on cold 
fusion - or whatever new principle is to be accepted - and then ignore the 
critics and academics.
 
Whatever your beliefs on the matter,  I think Jesus had the right idea in 
telling people NOT to spread reports of his miracles. The result was a message 
spread to every corner of the world.  If I was ever lucky enough to figure out 
the free energy puzzle, I would consider his reverse psychology.
