First of all, I doubt that everyone at the NRC knows it exists, but the way the
government monitors EVERYTHING these days I'm sure at least someone in the NRC
has heard of it. I do not have a source.

Second of all, I understand what you are saying about how it would benefit him
if the NRC told him it had to be regulated because it is a nuclear device.
However, if the NRC does anything to prevent his device from being developed
and
utilized then they are the enemy of every single person on this planet. I can
understand them cooperating with him to do safety testing of the devices, but
they should NOT interfere unless they discover something that is absolutely
obviously VERY dangerous. There are lots of dangerous devices on this planet. I
would say many of them can be purchased at Home Depot.

Third, I realize you have contributed a lot to the cold fusion field. However,
wanting the NRC to get involved and demand 100 million dollars worth of testing
would be a disaster. We need alternative energy technologies NOW! Every day we
do not have such technologies thousands of people starve to death. The price of
energy has a DIRECT RELATION to the price of food. Unless his devices are
insanely dangerous they need to let them be manufactured and sold. I don't want
to see any deaths or injuries from one of his devices, but in the big picture
NOTHING is absolutely safe and a few malfunctions or accidents is not nearly as
bad as the number of people who starve to death each year, lack heat, lack
shelter, etc.

I do not oppose your idea that the NRC should contact Rossi, but I totally
disagree with them shutting down the production and use of these devices. As a
precaution I could see them not being sold at Walmart until more safety testing
has been done, but for industrial uses in which they would be monitored by
professionals I do not see an issue.

Why are you sure they know it exists? Have you been in contact with someone in
the NRC who says it exists? (You need not reveal the name of your contact.)

I disagree. I think big oil is opposed to cold fusion. I know Saudi Arabia will
be panicing if this technology is proven valid. How can nations with almost all
of their exports based on oil not be opposed?
>

Let me put it this way. I have been in contact with several people at Big Oil
companies. They expressed no opposition to the field. On the contrary, they
have
funded Dufour and others. Perhaps they were deceiving me, but in any case I am
not aware of any statements or actions they have taken to impede the research,
whereas I know of many actions by DoE officials and others to stop the research.

It is my impression that most people at most Big Oil and other mainstream
energy
companies seem unaware of the research. I say this because they contact me from
time to time expressing great surprise, asking rather uniformed question, and
asking me to recommend papers or send papers I have not uploaded.

No, they will not be negligent. They will be saying, "We don't care if the
economy collapses due to a lack of clean energy. We are the boss!"
>

Regulation is not the same quashing the technology. Once it becomes known that
the NRC or some other agency is testing the devices to ensure safety, that will
tell every sensible person that the effect is real, and cold fusion is a
nuclear
process. Why else would a NUCLEAR regulatory agency be involved?

As I said, if it was thought to be a scam, a consumer protection agency would
investigate. If it was thought to be a chemical effect, the DoE or some other
conventional energy agency would investigate it and test it. A DoE scientist --
or any sane scientist or engineer -- would take about 2 minutes to conclude it
is not a chemical device.

Then you are an enemy of cold fusion.
