I want it to be nuclear to prove to the skeptical naysayers who have suppressed
cold fusion technology for the last twenty or so years that nuclear reactions
can take place at low temperatures, and be used to produce significant
quantities of power!

Andrea Rossi has been working on these devices for years and claims a nuclear
reaction takes place that transmutes nickel to copper. I believe him.

However, I'm open to the possibility that there are OTHER mechanisms taking
place in the device at the same time. For example, shrunken hydrogen atoms
might
be being created.

How often have the experts been wrong regarding LENR?

Touché ...

However, V&B look to be very qualified in gamma measurement, and they take
into account the shielding, and most of all, they do not deny the excess
heat... which they witnessed firsthand.

Therefore, the real question resolves to this: what good reason is there to
"want it to be nuclear" ?

Answer: none. Would we all not be better off in every possible way if the
reaction were both gainful and non-nuclear?

A nuclear process, as we all agree - gets the NRC and if for that reason
alone it can be called non-nuclear then why rock the boat?
