Questioned by who? Where? On what basis? Anything can be "questioned" including the moon landings and whether an airplane actually did smash into the towers on 9/11 or whether that was a hologram. Let us limit ourselves to rational doubts and reasonable questions.

The amount of output is a relevant. There was definitely output power the entire time unless you believe thermocouples do not work or the Second law of Thermodynamics and Newton's law of cooling are invalid.

This reaction has been observed thousands of times. There is not a single instance in which chemical reactions were observed or chemical fuel was present, whereas commensurate helium has been discovered in experiments using deuterium. Therefore it is most likely a nuclear reaction. Unless you can cite better evidence I think we should assume it is.
