Of course, you can do all this graphically.  Start with a source, say
a candle, whose heat is fairly constant, and  heat a piece of copper
tubing with a known flow rate of water.  Measure the water input
temperature and measure the output temperature at various distances
from the source after heating.  You can plot the curve on graph paper
and, using curve fitting, determine when the temperature falls by,
say, 95%.

All quite silly, really, tho.
