As a background to this, please remember that Rossi claims DGT has never been in possession of the reactor. Defkalion claims that after separating from Rossi, they developed their own core technology. From the Defkalion forum, these are exact quotes from the administrator: "Defkalion GT".
_____________________________________ CE TESTING: June 26, 2011 - Out of the CE standards, Hyperion products (kW or MW range) have to pass all tests described the the Greek and EU lows according to their industrial code classification. The Authorities responsible to test and certify are -The Ministry of Regional Development and Industry -The Ministry of Environment and Energy through their appointed by low labs. June 28, 2011 - Safety test in progress by the Greek Authorities include procedures and scenarios (for all ranges of products) on: -Stress tests -Operational and safety test in not normal conditions (fire, earthquake etc). Please note that Greece is a country with earthquakes and very high safety standards because of the earthquakes -EU regulation SEVESO II related tests (hydrogen storage and handling) -Tests on critical components failure -All tests for radiations etc, according to EU standards -Safety/Stability tests -Other safety related tests All tests protocols and results will be released and published in Defkalion's site with the Certificates from the Greek Authorities before any releasing of products in Greece. P.S. E-cat lab prototype shielding is 3 mm thick. Your toaster may produce more radiation than an e-cat . June 29, 2011 - As already stated in the Press Conference with the presense of Ministry of Regional Development (Industry/Energy) and other related Authorities: Greek Authorities testing is in progress Thank you for your attention _____________________________________ THE FACTORY: July 1, 2011 - We have to start with one factory producing all needed for Hyperions as son as possible. Off course the existing infrastracture is limitted to 6000sqm. In the White Paper it is stated that a second factory, specialy designed and constracted to service our poroduction lines demands and procedures, is planned for operations by Q3 of 2012. With this factory, also in Xanthi, we can reach the production of 300.000 new kW range Hyperions/year, 900.000 recharges/year and fascilities for the setup of MW range Hyperions in 20feet cargo containers. When we set up the second factory, the first will specialize only in certain industrial procedures that are related mainly with the reactor and its contents. The ownership of these factories is in accordance with business plans and roles of our business entities. Defkalion GT is to manufacture and support Hyperions for the Greek and the Balkans Market as well as to export to countries with no local production of Hyperions, while Praxen Defkalion Green Technologies (Global) Ltd has the rights for e-cat technology distribution (except USA). There are plans for a third factory in Greece, the second of Defkalion GT, but no final decisions yet about its capacity or time plans. Thank you for your question July 1, 2011 - We do not intend to release any specific info for our first factory infrastracture for strong security reasons that any professional related with technology or high end technologies would understand. We will do so as soon as we have secured our premisses. Xanthi has an excellent Industrial Zone very close to the city center, very close to Police Academy and quite close to the City Hospital which we intend to power also with "waste heat" from our production. We offer heat energy to neigbour existing factories to cut their production costs using well known technologies on heat management and distribution, operational in Greece for 25 years now (the main coal electric power plants of the Greek Power Company distributes heat to neigbour cities 25-30km away). This service is know as "tele-heating" (τηλεθέρμανση) and it is very popular to other civilized countries of Europe as well. The closest beach to our factory is 20 minutes driving away and it is excellent. Dogs are allowed. Not for sale to IMF _____________________________________ PERFORMANCE: June 26, 2011 - Factor 6 is the minimum guaranteed by Andrea Rossi for any e-cat configuration. During our in house tests we have never observed a performance ratio less than 19 so far. June 26, 2011 - Every kW Hyperion products is equiped with electronics and sensors that, among other, monitor in "real time" the mass/sec and the temperature difference (Delta) between output and input of the coolant in use (mass calorimeter). If this Delta is beyond a pre-defined point at products installation then: If it is a singe reactor unit, the reactor stops If it is a multi-reactor unit, then either some reactor(s) stop or all reactors stop based to a performance balance algorithm within safety/operational electronics. So, to answer your question: If you "consume" the heat energy, then the Hyperion continious to produce heat energy so you can achive max performance at any time of the day. If you do not "consume", Hyperion stops and starts* automaticaly. A Hyperion can be conected to the configuration of your house appliances in many ways. If you have a boiler, then the glycole closed circuit heats the water within the boiler. As an alternative, you can also use simple heat exchangers (tube or plates) to distribute heat energy to different water circuits. How these may apply depends on a study of your expert mechanic. Every Hyperion unit is equiped with a GSM communication, reporting performance and alarms to a main support computer. We think that we will know long before you will notice through Hyperion's desplay message the need to send you a recharged unit to replace the "empty" one. June 26, 2011 - Q1. What is the maximum temperature of steam that can be produced using Hyperion? Q2. How fast is power regulation, let say from 50% to 100%? Fast power regulation is done be proportional valves but knowing this parameter would be interesting. Q3. What is the minimum power level for Hyperion to be operational? Especially during the night there is no need to run with full power but still power plant can not be shut down. In this case fuel cost is not a problem but other things like water steam can be saved. A1. In a Hyperion/external heat exchanger system, the maximum temperature we can get for the steam at the heat exchanger output is 414C. A2. In a 20kW multireactor module, rising from 50% to 100% requires aprox 4min. Detailed graphs will be available with final product specs A3.This depends on the configuration. In the previous example (20kW multireactor), minimum power level is, at present, 2.5kW. All these figures reflect to the present pilot production version of products. Final product's specs may change the above mentioned figures. June 28, 2011 - At least 1/6 of 1MW(thermal) produced by Hyperion products can be turned to electric power, using specific existing third party technologies. This may improove only by those third party technlogies performance. Our products consume electricity and produce heat with a ratio 1:20 to 30 (depending on their configuration). June 29, 2011 - A reader asked what the role is of the TWO heaters in the E-Cat; DGT responded: The electric heating system is part of the switching system of our products. It is required to heat the reactor every time it is needed to be turned on, as already explained also by A.Rossi and described in his patent application. This switching mechanism is playing a significant role on the functionality and safety of our products. There is not any positive contribution from the electric heating system to the performance ratio of our products. July 1, 2011 - The specs of the steel tube in use as well as for all its auxiliary safety components to protect reactor or is environment from any danger was one of the main industralization tasks, that improoved lab prototype materials as presented in photos by Andrea Rossi. We intend to present these specs within our products sheet, as far this is mantadory according to EU and local safety legislation, following the products Certificates issuing from the Authorities. These include certificates on safety in nortmal, stressed and ubnormal conditions. ___________________________________ RECHARGING: June 24, 2011 - Recharging of the e-cat and the hydrogen can is required, at the moment, to take place every six months. This is due to inspection protocols and not real consumption of Ni and Hydrogen (the can last far more to produce heat energy in a non stop condition). When we have enough testing time on our products, the energy production with no recharge will be guaranteed for longer (12 months). June 26, 2011 - 2lt at 200 bars with N60 Hydrogen is enough for more than 6 months continious operation Thank you for your attention July 1, 2011 - According to the recharging protocols in place, we do not change the "hardware" of the kernel. Periodicaly we moove a "fresh" Hyperion to the installation and take the "old" one to the factory to recharge and inspect. We recharge the kernel's (e-cat or e-cats) content and we replace the hydrogen can with a fresh one. Hydrogen cans are recharged from our supliers in their own factories. This procedure is the same for all series of Hyperion products, not only A and B ___________________________________ TESTING: June 24, 2011 - A big number of in house lab prototype e-cat tests have been succesfully concluded by Defkalion GT during the previous months. As far as we know, there are no any more third party public testing or demos scheduled on lab prototype e-cats (similar to Kullander or other) till November. At the moment there are no other third party testing on Hyperion Products other than the ones in progress by the Greek Authorities. Results of these official tests on performance, stability, functionality and safety will be released following the issuing of the final Certificates by the Greek Authorities June 26, 2011 - several closed door test were performed prior to contracts signature. An early result from our testing has been published in http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=497 by prof Christos Stremmenos (graph with date stamp) Thank you June 29, 2011 - 1 MW is not what is the waste heat produced within our factory. At full capacity we test 1000 Hyperions a day for several hours. Assume they are all 20KW and assume that their test lasts 12hours (which is not correct, it is more). To much thermal energy to run a coffee machine, isn't it? [IN THE FULL CONTEXT, THIS CLAIM OF TESTING 1,000 PER DAY WAS INTENDED AS A FUTURE ESTIMATION. THEY APPEARED TO SIMPLY ERR IN THE VERB TENSE, AND WERE NOT IMPLYING CURRENT UNIT TESTING OF THAT MAGNITUDE] July 1, 2011 - We are willing to answer to any question regarding our products and their characteristics or specs. We have oppenly and honestly announced that we are in the middle of a pilot production of our products in parallel with inhouse testing on their final developments or adjustments when, in parallel, the official multilevel product tests from the Greek Authorities are in progress. July 1, 2011 - Q: Can you (Defkalion) please tell what is the greatest number of E-cats in combination already tested? The greatest clutter of E-cats cooperating well. A: Till now: In a single Hyperion kW range configuration: What is the greatest number of E-cats in combination already tested? 6 The greatest clutter of E-cats cooperating well? 6 In a Hyperion MW configuration (to same questions): 115 Hyperions of kW range 115 Hyperions of kW range (tests in progress) In order not to confuse, when "e-cat" we refer to Hyperion's reactor. Please also note products brief discription in White Paper about single and multi-reactor Hyperion kW units. Thank you for your question July 1, 2011 - Q: It is possible to know in which configuration are u testing them ? Mainly in parallel or also in series ? And if in series what is the temperature value reached ? A: In all cases mentioned above, parellel configurations. ______________________________________ SECURITY DEVICES - HYPERION SELF-DESTRUCT MECHANISMS July 2, 2011 - As you may notice, this is our first public comment in this topic or in the issue raised here. Even so, some members of this forum have already came to final conclusions about Hyperion's internal security systems based only on discussions on speculations between forum members! We really thank you all for your ideas and their critics. Our R&D people will appreciate your effort in this subject during their brakes (they usually have some grate fun then). As a suggestion, we recommend to members of this forum to avoid the catastrophic results from the consumption of huge amounts of extracts of cola type soft drinks. Such industrial secrets of these "dangerous" technologies survive reverse engineering for almost 100 years now, self destructed when one opens the bottle. Have a nice weekend and thank you for your (explosive) participation in this topic. (Hint: E-cats are not powered by Coca Cola) _______________________________________ INTERNAL CONSTRUCTION: July 2, 2011 - Q:Have you looked into different form factors for the ECAT modules? The current one, being cylinder shaped, does not take heat out of the Ni-H core very effectively. A flat plate like design would have much larger surface area to core volume and could handle more power. (That is my theory). The coolant would flow over the larger flat surfaces and absorb more heat at a given flow rate. I was hoping that such a design would then allow significantly larger power generation. I am still hoping that the current limits you observe for control stability are able to be scaled up. A: We have not released any info how the internal heat extraction from the cylinder containg the reactor(s) has been designed. Your idea has a very preety good base and has been checked several months ago with computer simulation and Hyperion prototypes testing before we concluded with an effective solution. Not of a big industrial secret is living there, but one of the Defkalion's patent application related is under preparation. ________________________________________ BUILDING THEIR OWN CORES: July 2, 2011 - Q:Did Mr Xanthoulis not say that the ECats would be coming from Rossi and that Defkalion just made the box and the surrounding support gear? Then, a few seconds later he appears to correct himself by saying "we do both" whatever "do" means here, but I sure do think he said that Rossi supplies the reactor and Defkalion supplies the box. One minute and 50 seconds, and further: http://vimeo.com/25785236 Or, did DefkalionGT not assert, or at least imply, that a bunch of ECats were currently being tested in the Defkalion testing facility? For example in this very thread? viewtopic.php?p=1576#p1576 A: "We do both" means that both the reactor (or e-cat) and its peripherals that a Hyperion is made of, will be produced in Greece. Please refer to White Paper that describes very clearly which entity is responsible on what. Please try to understand also that the e-cat terminology, when we are talking of products, referes to the kernel (reactor) of our products and not to the lab prototypes as have been presented in public. In different stages of our products development we have used either e-cat lab prototypes by A. Rossi or e-cats made by us in the pre-industrial pilot production phase. Obviously this phase is in parellel with testing of Hyperions, as we answered in viewtopic.php?p=1576#p1576 Still you have to apologize on your discredit attacks to Alex Xanthoulis and to Greece.
