This is not a big surprise, in fact it is a nano surprise. That is, when you realize that the gain is actually expected from using the correct criterion: which is based on only one variable - active surface area. When you go from the Nickel capillary tubes of Thermacore and 30 watts gain to "nanometric" powder, and Rossi's kilowatts - you effectively had increased the available surface by roughly the same ratio increase in power, even though with less mass. IOW - Rossi gets slightly less power from a gram of nanopowder (per unit of surface area) today than did Thermacore in 1994 from than same surface area (but far more mass). Jones
