Looks like a stealthy UAV of some sort, accompanied by the sound of an engine. That round patch in the underside could be a radar (like AWACS) or a lift fan such as used by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Aeronautics_X-Hawk There is a huge amount of military R&D work done in the middle of England - it's one of the biggest employers of the region
