A follow up question for the group - more like a follow up wild speculation.

Do you think there is merit in the idea that a huge Electrostatic field induced 
by a huge accumulated charge would somehow affect Electromagnetic radiation 
like photons (gammas) and somehow split it into its quasi particles.  Maybe one 
carrying the electro force and the other the magnetic force.  When so affected, 
the energy would then thermalize and dissipate as heat instead of as 
penetrating radiation.

This is a wild speculation and has no basis in what I have read or what I have 
understood.  It seems to me that if an electron can be split into its 
quasiparticles - Holon, chargon and spinon, a photon might be amendable to such 
similar properties.

Have you come across something similar  to this idea?
