Yes, it is possible to for a monkey to peck a word or a few words at random.  
But you are forgetting one thing.  Monkeys are not random, they have 
intelligence and their behavior can be statistically characterized as 
non-random.  For instance, a monkey would peck the center keys of a trypewriter 
much more than the edge keys.  This is a statistical behavior that can be 
documented.

But putting this argument aside, the process still boils down to probabilities. 
  Yes,  you may quibble correctly that information does get created from random 
process and I am willing to concede that point.  But what we are discussing 
here is whether DNA can be created via random processes.  A sequence as long as 
our DNA certainly can not be created randomly; it would simply take too long, 
far far far longer than the supposed age of the Big Bang Universe.  

In his paper, Stephen Meyer conjectures that a product whose chance of being 
randomly created to be less than 10^80 (If I remember correctly) is a product 
that is specified complex.  This specified complex property is used to properly 
judge an "Intelligence-created" product vs a randomly process-created product.

Is it possible for a tornado to go thru a junk yard and assemble a fully 
operational 747.  Absolutely, this is possible but is it probable?  The 
probability of such an event is computed to be less than 10^80, hence a 747 is 
rightly judged to be an object that is specified complex.  And when we see 
something that is specified complex, we can rightly conclude that an 
intelligence is behind its creation.  Surely, no one would argue that a 747 was 
created randomly; and yet we boldly argue that our DNA is created randomly even 
when it is clear our DNA is many orders of magnitufe more complex than a 747.

  I suspect that there are similar natural phenomena that generate information. 
 It is unfair to use the origin of these processes as a technique to exclude 
their outputs by definition.

while the letter "I" while it contains information, is complex but not 
specified complex.  Specified Complexity is a property that allows us to judge 
whether something has its origins from an intelligence or something from random 
processes.

      Whenever we see something like DNA that contains both information and is 
specified complex and its random formation impossible, we can conclude is was 
designed by an Intelligence.


      But once again, I am getting ahead of myself.  We will discuss specified 
complexity in a later post.

        Jojo I think that your statement that no random process can increase 
the information content of a system is too broad.  The formation of a crystal 
from a vat of molten material seems to be a system that takes the random motion 
of the hot atoms as its input and then a directing force leads to the final 
crystal structure.  Entropy is increased for the overall system by the release 
of heat of fusion, but the local region becomes less random.

        With this type of process in mind, I think that the choice of system 
boundaries become critical.

Yes,  That is why I say Darwinian Evolution is dead, a totally discredited 
and fallacious idea.    Darwin did not know about DNA, genes, cell 
structures, RNA and others.

Had he known the structure of DNA for instance, he would have concluded that 
slow random mutation can not explain the existence of DNA.  Why, because 
random mutation can not explain the existence of "Information" within our 
DNA.  There is no random process that will result in an arrangement that 
increases the Information Content of a system.  Random processes results in 
entrophy, and entrophy is the opposite of Information and order.

But I am getting ahead of myself.  I will discuss DNA information in a 
future post.
