the mainstream theory on AZF, that seems rational is that some unwarned
temporary worked have put some unmarked bags of chemical...

in fact the workers were stealing chloride for the swiming pool around,
using unmarked bags.
This was one of that bag that have been thrown on the heap of fertilizer.

this fertilizer was ther since decades because it was forbidden today,
becaus etoo much explosive in case of fire.
Note that a boat of fertilizer have burned and exploded and put doewn the
port of brest in the 50s (My dad was 200km away, in Perros-Gurec and have
noticed the 50cm tsunami-like soliton in his fisher boat). It was because
the fertilizer was coated with wax. now forbidden.

the power of the explosion is no surprise.

like in many case, the workers don't want to admit that it is their fault...
even if the management is faluty too :letting such a dump, secured in
theory, but loosely managed in fact, and letting theorically trained, but
practically dumb, temporary workers work on the site. add to that a blind
management, that don't wan't to see that the worked steal chemicals... and
boom.

Stupidity, cowardliness, greed, corruption,  is a better explanation than
conspiracy...
