Not for sure, if you look for my other two papers tr Piantelli on my Blog,you will see he has wiorked underfounded, his lab was moved more times, do it is possible he had no means to measure heat, radiation and transmutations for all tests.
More important, many if not all transition metals can be used and heat/radiation is metal-specific.
