Extreme negligence toward who, under what law or what set of rules? This is privately funded research. These people are free do whatever they like with anyone present or absent. I believe their agenda is to gain intellectual property and to commercialize the device. As far as I know, they are not trying to convince the scientific establishment or the readers of this forum. - Jed
