A stack is a small area of memory set aside by each program for
short-term storage while working things out. Some programs need more
stack than others. You can imagine that table layout, being a
complicated multi-level process, would need a lot of stack space.

It is quite common for programs to crash when they run out of stack.
Well written programs should never do this.

If an Amiga program has an icon, the amount of stack used can be set in
the icon ("Information" in the Workbench menu). It is common to try
increasing the stack if a program is behaving badly: sometimes it helps.
