Ghostscript is provided so that you can print a Postscript file on a non-PS
printer.  If you had a PS printer, you would never need Ghostscript,
(except for viewing PS files on screen).

PostScript --> Ghostscript --> Non-Postscript output

It seems to be very good, especially for colour printers.
