agreed. it is pretty stupid to make such backgrounds. i have before many
times had to change backgrounds of sites at work because they thought using
a 1x1 pixel background colour was good. however, surely the actual
body background needs no transparency ? only other background elements would
need this. anyway, maybe it will be slightly faster in release with
optimisation.
try it on voyager 3.2 and you can see the difference in speed.
