Why does the version that doesn't use our allocated syscall number
deserve the `debut' stable release?

I suggest that this version be released as 0.9.0, and c17g+ can be
1.0.0pre1. The last number can be reserved for bugfix releases only,
the second for new features, and the first for major project
reshaping.

This will make it a lot easier to track backporting fixes to the older
versions, so that we don't keep telling people "upgrade all your
userland tools to get this one-line fix"..

Real software engineers don't program in assembler. They become
queasy at the very thought.
