Thanks for all the help guys. I figured I was either overpowering the rod or
casting with too fast a cadence. Now that I think about it, I have been
really trying to drive that last cast like I do with my SP+.
My dad started me fly fishing long before I can remember so much of what I do
is second nature to me. Most of the time this is a real blessing because
many things are automatic. Sometimes it is a disadvantage because I never
learned the physics of the sport from an adult perspective. When something
goes wrong, I normally fix it quickly but going to that superfast rod really
changed my casting style.
