I also wear prescription glasses and tried a variety of different
sunglasses options including prescription, custom clip-on (designed
and made by the frame manufacturer), and both cheap and more
expensive generic clip-ons. By far the Polaroids work the best,
especially for fishing, but all-around too.

My prescription incorporates a reading or close-vision component and
seems to change frequently, resulting in a $400-$500 expense every
year or two. As such, I just can't justify the additional expense for
a pair of prescription Polaroids as well.

I'm currently enjoying a well-made pair of Polaroid clip-ons that fit
my current frames amazingly well. They are the dark amber color which
I think is a noticeable improvement over the grey or green color I've
favored in the past.

Called Posi-Lock Clip Ons, they cost $55 and come in a several shapes
and sizes as well as lens colors. Look for 'em at the Orvis store in
Bellevue or online at http://www.orvis.com (search keyword clip-on)
