Jeff:
I second the Action Optics nomination.
These are optics designed for fishing.
If you have classic "over 40" vision, the extra low positioning of the
bifocal lens preserves vision at your feet while walking/wading, reducing
aggravating trips and embarrassing faceplants, yet is "there" to tie knots
etc. You will forget you have them on your face.
(This low positioning will make you laugh at yourself if you try to read
something like a posted menu or computer screen. You will find your nose in
the air!)
I find the prices reasonable, given that you are buying prescription glasses
(even though my distance vision needs no correction).
I use two pairs, one for bright days, switching to their "first light" model
to deal with surface glare at dawn, dusk or dark cloudy days.
Both glasses have proven very durable over 4 years of fishing and guiding.

Jeff, Try Action optics, amber, polarized and variable
density.Spendy but
awsomely effective!Amber helps on the grey days of which we
have a few and on
the bright days the variable density is like a camera
apature in cutting down
the light that enters the eye. They work for me on the Umpqua
and equally as well
on Christmas Island. Reguards, Chuck Breed (
