It was raining more sideways than up and down by the time I got to
Rattlesnake Lake this evening. I stood in the wind and rain and almost
changed my mind about launching in that crappy weather, but you don't catch
any fish driving home on the freeway. Half-heartedly I dug the oars in at
about 6:45 PM.

The wind began to die down and the rain turned down a few notches near 7 PM
and the line began to twitch occasionally. By 7:30 I had landed 3 and lost
that many more. By 9 PM I was laughing my head off in the drizzle as fish
after fish hit that bug-eyed dragon. The only slack time in the evening was
spent watching the osprey dive-bomb the lake and carry off dinner. Even saw
an eagle soar. In the end I had at least 8 to the boat, and lost more than
that. Can't count all the strikes.

Best time at Rattlesnake in 3 years for me.
