Rattlesnake was good again to me, giving up 13 or 14 stocker size rainbows.
There were 2 that were in the 14 to 15 inch range. There were a few small
ones I didn't count (honest!) that would be called bait in saltwater. The
technique that was most successful was trolling fast by rowing (you miss a
lot of strikes that way), or by sudden, quick strips on the line. Movement
seemed to be important.

The sign at the entrance to the park says the gate closes at 9:30 PM, so I
diligently got out of the lake and made it by 9:29. A guy was standing next
to it ready to close it. He was real friendly and we chatted for a few
minutes. He lives in West Seattle, so he likes to leave promptly at 9:30,
not later. I think he was hinting in a big way.

I asked about parking outside the gate and fishing after dark and he said
that was fine. I also asked about vandalism and car break-ins. Apparently
that is why the gates are there now - too much vandalism in the park.
Closing the park may have discouraged any more vandals from going out that
way, but he didn't know about it one way or the other. The gates are opened
and closed by Seattle Public Utilities department.
