Rattlesnake is one of my favorites too. I was not too happy with the
"improvements" made in the last couple of years, and came minutes close to
getting locked in one night. My very best luck there had always come in the
last bit of daylight, which, at least last year, was after the gates had
closed. I guess you could park outside, but with all of the prowls they have
at other trailheads, this looked like another made to order problem.
My question is that I drove by Monday night just to check the water level,
well past the time posted for locking and the gate was open and there were
still a few cars in the boat launch and parking areas. Are they still
locking this up according to their schedule?
Thanks,
Steve
