The salmon are from the Yakama tribal hatchery at Cle Elum. I don't know where they actually put them into the river. They may truck them around to several locations. A good quick check is to fold up the anal fin. In all of the salmon species, the forward-most ray will not reach to the insertion point of the rearmost ray. In Steelhead/rainbows, the ray will reach beyond that point (or so I am told by a former fisheries student).
