I suppose that at Cle Elum we were closer to the source.  There were plenty
of PMD's on the upper river too, but most of the fish that were looking up
were salmon. Look for them in the canyon soon.  I've even found good numbers
of them in the canyon in the fall.  I wonder what the ratio of ocean-type
(immediate down migrants) to river-type (a year in the river before
smolting) chinook they're turning out there is.
