I was planning on heading to Dry Falls but did not do it due to the fact
that the Yak looked to be running really nice up high, and I liked the idea
of an hour drive as opposed to a 4 hour drive. I hit the Yakima Saturday
morning above the Cle Elum since that reservoir was dumping all weekend.
The water in my opinion was running GREAT. Wadeable in all my normal spots
near Easton and Golf Course Road. I am an honorable man, so I will say I
did not get any 'official' fish, but my net did see 15 or so 6-8" Rainbows
that were taking anything that floated on the water. It got to the point
where I tried to put something on that those guys would ignore so I could
get my fly down to their bigger brothers and sisters--it didn't happen. The
little guys loved the adams #14. They also took a #12 scud and a #12 prince
nymph. My buddy and I avoided the rain for the most part and had a great
day on the water.
