I think we have beat this to death and it really applies to fishermen
(fisherpersons) more than to fly fishing.
I did not really think anyone complained about the purpose or the amount.
Consider this analogy. You buy a season ticket to your favorite sports team
and get an assigned seat. But instead of getting a paper pass or a book of
tickets, you have to have a tattoo on your forehead to use the seat. Now, no
one else can use your seat, even though you paid a fair price for it. Also,
even when you are not at a game, everyone knows you are a season ticket
holder for that team (of course you can have the old tattoos removed after
the season is over).
I guess all of us from Washington at least should be used to "method
discrimination" - how much of your state tax did you get to deduct where it
was collected as sales tax?
Thanks for your indulgence, I will try to focus on fly fishing topics.

Subject: yellow vehicle stickers
I'm amazed and somewhat amused at the objections that so many people seem to
have to the stewardship stickers and, even moreso, the resistance to paying
an extra five bucks per extra vehicle. These stickers are your ticket to the
use of areas owned and maintained by the WDFW. All persons using these
areas, be they birdwatchers, hikers, boaters, or any other sort of
recreational users, are required to purchase and display this sticker if
they are using WDFW boat launches, access areas, etc., and the money helps
to defray the costs of maintenance.
