Green yarn and nightcrawlers happens to have been one of my favorite baits
for winter steelhead on the Satsop and Wynoochie rivers a way back in
another life. January and February coho salmon in the same rivers also like
the combo. I used an old Granger rod that had a cane butt section and had
been repaired with a "new" fiberglass tip. It worked ok. I also used an old
Pflueger Supreme level-wind with no drag, no backlash control, no nothing.
Those were the days! That is my confession.
