Crawdads

Has anyone had success fishing a crawdad pattern for trout? I was told about
a trout taken out of lake Cushman about 18" with two 6" crawdads packed in
the stomach.The fish was taken for dinner and really surprised the guy
cleaning it. Good God the take must be incredible.
