Sounds like you did okay, Don. Amber kind of goes through some interesting
changes in mid to late June and what worked well in May begins to slow down.
Over the years I have found that while buggers with lots of flash-a-boo work
well in the Spring and Fall, the fish will only key in on buggers without
flash during the Summer. I also have noted that a switch from black to brown
buggers produces better results. Wooly Worms also come on strong in the
Summer. Especially grey bodied with a red tail.

Try working the rock slide down lake on the boat ramp side. Cast a big leach
in towards the rocks and slowly work it down the slide. Lots of big fish
like to hang out in there and feed on crayfish so sometimes that works well.

As the water heats up, knowing where the springs are comes in handy.
Downlake towards the windmill you will see two docks. Fish withing about
8-12 feet of the shore. This is a really deep trench that sits off the
shallow weed beds and I believe it to hold at least one spring. The fish
will hold in this deeper water and a blood worm fished on about a 9 foot
leader will produce well.

You are on the right track with staying out until dark. Amber has some
incredible hatches in the last hour of light and well into the night.
Mosquito pattersn, small Adams and just about anything small and bushy will
produce on these nights when they occur.

Best of luck.
