Hi All,
A quick note to introduce myself and then some questions...
Although I did it a wee bit as a kid (mostly trolled with spoons) I
started flyfishing in earnest about 12 years ago. About 1994 or so I
met Les Johnson and Pete Van Gytenbeek while working on the
"Flyfishing Northwest" video program for Prime Sports (I'm a
professional TV/Video director/producer). That's when my fishing got
much more serious.
I've learned a lot from those guys and from others I met through
them. I've been a member of the WFFC since January. I've a small
business, a wife, two kids under 6, and not nearly enough time to
fish.
However... (this is where the questions are), my wife and I get a
reprieve from the kiddies this weekend. I was thinking about
exploring the Naches for a day or two. We have two pontoon craft
which we can use to float the river with and camp along the way,
making a two day mini-float trip out of it. Or, we would just setup
camp somewhere and wade fish.
Does anyone have any local knowledge about stretches to float,
camping spots along the way, and/or a way to arrange a shuttle?
And as far as the fishing, I'm guessing the usual mid-summer trout
stuff applies here (humpies, caddis, beadheads, etc.)?
Thanks in advance,
Bill
